Level 2 Teaching Assistant

NJC Grade 4 - starting salary £21,751 (pay award pending), 36 hours per week, term time plus 5 inset days, fixed term for 12 months from September 2026

 

Overview

The Head teacher and Governors of St Barnabas CE Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team working with children aged 2 to 11.

 

The successful candidate will work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curriculum/resource area.

 

The successful candidate will hold relevant qualifications and be able to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards through classroom support and leading on intervention programmes in EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Promote the inclusion and wellbeing of all pupils
  • Set high expectations for themselves and the children they work with
  • Show flexibility and draw on a range of strategies in helping pupils achieve positive outcomes in their learning.
  • Maintain a high quality learning environment at all times.
